Continued line problem. How to get Openreach to relay/replace cable

Go to solution

We’ve been suffering lots of problems with the old copper cable in our road. There are now no clean pairs available and there are repetitive call-outs to fix problems. There’s probably water in the underground lines. What’s the best way to get the line replaced? If possible with fibre rather than copper! We live on a tarmac covered track on the edge of a village of 10000 people. There are about 10 properties impacted by the problems on this one line.  Any advice gratefully received.

this is a customer help customer forum and post does not go to BT

the people affected need to keep reporting a fault to their respective ISPs and hopefully with the constant reported problems openreach may do something about the connection.

there is no connection from this forum to openreach

Thanks imjolly

i was wondering whether anyone else had experienced same sort of issue. No matter how many times we seem to log issues we don’t seem to have reached the “replace cable” threashold. Thanks anyway.

It needs all 10 properties assuming all are affected to keep reporting problem to their ISPs (assume not all are BT Retail) before openreach may do something.  BT Retail can't insist openreach replace the line
