Hi,
For the past few months i've been experiencing complete drop outs of connection during the evenings.
I've noticed recently that my DSL Modulation is coming up as ADSL_G.dmt, the dsl settings on the router are set to Auto.
I'm also getting high line attenuation.
Current Rate (kbps) | 448 | 3904 |
Max Rate (kbps) | 988 | 4156 |
SNR Margin (dB) | 17 | 12.8 |
Line Attenuation (dB) | 31.5 | 50.5 |
Errors (pkts) | 0 | 17 |
I've checked and my exchange is adsl 2+ enabled, if I try changing my dsl settings I am unable to connect. How do I fix this and get on ADSL2+ ?
Thanks,

Welcome to this user forum. @jamben1864
Are you a BT Broadband customer?
Were you previously on adsl2? Have you tried connecting to test socket with filter and see if attenuation changes?
Just because your exchange is adsl2 enabled does not mean you would have been automatically on adsl2 - and from what you have posted I suspect you have always been on adslmax
have you tried connecting to test socket with filter to see if any change on attenuation or connection speed
the forum mods can help you upgrade to adsl2 but you really need to get a stable connection first
Hi @jamben1864 and thanks for posting.
If you can folow @imjolly advice (I can appreciate it wont be easy given it's location) and let us know if there is any change I'm sure we'll be able to advise further.
Cheers
David
