Daily Dropouts

I have a BT HH4 and a BB connection of around 1.7Mbs downstream.

The problem is daily dropouts requiring a hub reboot. The dropouts occur in the morning usually at around 0900 altrhough sometimes later in the morning. There is only one per day

I have contacted BT and have had the hub replaced with another HH4. We have tried other ports on the hub

The hub is connected to the Openreach master socket directly into the upper socket. No other phone is connected to the lower socket.

The PC is hardwired by LAN although there are other wireless and wired devices on the system.

Today I recieved a call back from BT in Chennai. They ran more tests and declared that it was a sync problem between the hub and the exchange. There was nothing more they could do and it was normal for the hub to disconnect daily.

I said that I thought this was strange as most customers would not be willing to reboot their hub almost daily as I have to.

I wonder if anyone can verify these statements. All help would be appreciated.

Here is the log from the dropout this morning occuring at 0630 today with some earlier activity? PC was switched on at 0615.

Re: Daily Dropouts

then I would expect the 2 lines you posted from the WAN stats to show that and not the reset on the 2nd

Re: Daily Dropouts

I think the confusion is the 2 lines of stats you posted in message 3 as last set.

I think that should have been

07:29:24, 03 Nov.

( 75.080000) DSL noise margin: 15.00 dB upstream, 12.10 dB downstream

07:29:24, 03 Nov.

( 75.010000) DSL line rate: 448 Kbps upstream, 2112 Kbps downstream
