On Friday the 21stof July, an overhead cable was struck outside our house, taking down my line, and 2 others. After 2 engineer visits, multiple missed appointments and a general lack of trust in the Indian call centre staff. I thought I'd try to post here.
I'd love to know know what I can claim for, days off work waiting for engineers , to purchase of extra data for my phone. Also some idea as to a timeline for an eventual fix.

Please remove the VOL number from the post as this is confidential information.
Its unlikely you would be able to claim any refund on services like Now TV, as they are not provided by BT. You may be able to claim for a mobile dongle by filling in the claim form.
If there has been major damage to the external network, then Openrach may declare MBORC (Matters Beyond Our Reasonable Control), which will limit the amout of compensation they pay to Service Providers like BT.
