Exchange fiber but house copper

I'm curious about the process of changing my house to fiber. The exchange which is located about 6 miles away has fiber enabled but the cable from there to the house is old copper. Can I be put on fiber? Do I have to pay to get the lines changed? What are my options? The Internet speeds at my house are a nightmare and can only get a maximum of 2mbps

If only it was that simple 😄

In short, no, you cannot simply have the line changed to fibre.

Can you put your telephone number into here http://www.dslchecker.bt.com and post the results up here.

Unless FTTP or FTTPoD is available from Openreach or FTTP from another Network Provider is available such a Hyperoptic then your only choice to get FTTP is to purchase and rent a Private Ethernet Circuit. Installation costs go upwards of £30k, sometimes more and rental can be a few thousand a year.
