yes those speeds could have been possible the line fault can be as simple as intermittent line noise or dial tone which can only be shown up by using the BT quiet line test using a land line phone as a poor quality phone line will severely affect broadband this is why having a phone connected to the phone line at all times is  so important also usefull in an emergency

It definitely appears to be a line fault as opposed to an equipment fault.

We just had an unexpected visit from an openreach engineer who took away the old master socket and fitted a new NTE5C master socket, he said this should resolve the issues we've been having. The stats still don't look healthy, here is an updated screen shot since it's been fitted:

Oh no, not the **bleep** 10 day cr*p again been there done that. Surely there's a faster way out of the banding as I keep seeing many other posts where people have had someone do it manually so they don't have to wait 10 days. We need fast speed NOW not in 10 days time we simply can't wait that long for many reasons.

you have to show a stable connection for at least 3 days before the mods will consider a manual reset and once they offer their contact link you could be waiting up to 5 working days before they recontact you there is no point in a manual reset if the connection is not stable as you will be back were you are within a very short time

I said "many" not "all". I'll ask for a manual reset on Friday then.
