the reset can only be arranged IF the connection remains stable and is still not likely to happen until after the weekend far better to let the connection get some training history and reset automatically

I know it's not your fault but I think this 10 day waiting policy is really unfair especially to paying customers and I'm sure many other bt customers would agree.

Please remember this is a customer to customer self help forum and we are all paying BT customers apart from the Forum Moderators who are the only BT employees on the forum and like you we have all had similar problems and like you have to wait the time scale applies to all providers as the DLM is fully automatic

That statement is not true, not everyone on the forum are already customers, many are merely aspiring customers asking questions or looking for information to see if bt is right for them. Anyway not to worry, this morning the hub restarted it self and everything looks back to normal now, at long last...

thanks to all of you for your help, just one last quick question. By leaving the hub switched on constantly from now on, will it be energy efficient? i.e will it cost a lot to run?

yes the hub is energy efficient you will not even see it is on from memory it is about £5.00 a year

All our BT Hubs have power saving technology to make sure we're doing our bit for the environment and your energy bill.
Our Hubs save energy by detecting when certain features are not being used. They then automatically go to sleep, waking back up when you want to use the internet again.
We never want you to turn off your Hub. This is so we can proactively monitor and upgrade your line so you always get the best possible broadband performance at home.
