Faulty Router changed - now need target SNR, interleaving and DSLAM profile all reset..

Go to solution

Router was up and down like a yo yo over Christmas which resulted in my Target SNR going up, Interleaving being turned on and no doubt my DSLAM profile being way slowed down .....

New Billion 7800 dxl router installed and all hunky dory and up again - but now instead of synching at 16ish Meg it is 8ish with max attainable speed of less than 10!!!.....and thats with my attentuation dropping to 29 with this new router rather than the old 32! So I would epxect faster...

I need everythign reset back to normal Target SNR of 3, interleaving off and DSLAM reset - but I notice the old contact a forum mod to have it done at https://bt.custhelp.com/app/contact_email/c/4951 is no longer valid.....

I really dont want to have to sit on the phone and step through a million questions with the Indian tech support only for it not to be done and me twiddle my fingers for 10 plus days until it (maybe?) happens automatically.

Does anyone know a quicker way?  I can override the target SNR on my router but dont really want to do that as it will end up too low when it is finally reset! plus nonw of the other changes will happen.

Thanks very much in Advance (and even for looking at my post).

Stuart

Im not sure what posting the stats will give that my explanation didnt?

However here they are....

As a result of a duff router over the christmas break, it looks like my DSLAM profile got capped to a max of 9980 (it used to be just under 20 meg), Target SNR up to 6db from 3db and interleaving turned on....

Router is straight into the master socket.....

Due to all the disconnections you are in a banded profile you need to maintain a stable connection for 3/5 days and you will start to lift out of the banding automatically

My understanding is that wont reset interleaving etc though - or have things change din last couple of years - used to need a manual itnervention.

correct it will not affect interleaving that will need manual intervention but again you will need to be able to show at least 3 days + before the mods would move you back to fastpath i would suggest getting the banding released first before any thing else

Re: Faulty Router changed - now need target SNR changed back ...

Almost 4 days now and no change in speed and a rock solid connection (not a suprise being half the usual speed) - could I humbly repeat my plea to get my profile reset, target snr reset to 3 and interleaving turned off...

New router rock solid...

Thanks

Stuart

connection is all the more impressive being rock solid when my lane is like this - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=piIm-bDIGsM and before the flooded bit the cables are all underground!
