Fibre Installation

Go to solution

Can anyone confirm fibre installation is fairly imminent near me, or am I looking at a longer timeframe?

BT when and where suggests it's in the "Build Phase" and availability within 5 months normally and has been like this since May/June 2017.Screenshot_2017-12-15-09-43-48-165_com.android.chrome.png

Re: Fibre Installation

As the date has not yet been confirmed it looks like a longer timeframe.

Welcome to this user forum.

Only Openreach would know that.

Thanks for the response. A little frustrating as the current speeds offered are just not sufficient for the household needs, hopefully soon.

Is there any way to find out further information via Openreach/BT or elsewhere.

If you are on ADSL2+, you should be getting more than enough speed for normal household use. 7-10.5 Mbs.

Are you sure you are getting the correct speed?

As far as Openreach is concerned.

Re: Fibre Installation

Normally I would be getting 2-3Mbps. It's incredibly rare to get it to peak 5+.

1GB roughly takes 45minutes to download.

Usually when I am gaming, and if someone tried to stream YT/Netflix simultaneously, gaming becomes impossible.

Also at times the connection can drop below 1Mbps, where even normal web browsing becomes impossible and need to resort to mobile broadband

I assume I am on ADSL2+, but how would one check if I am?

You should be getting a better connection that you are getting.
