I 'Twittered' @BTCare and got a call a couple of hours later from Ireland.

Give it a go.... my BB came back on at 14:13, funny how much you miss it ! 

Always happy... never satisfied.

11 days without Broadband & it seems I'm no nearer getting service restored.

 

They've stopped the Red Broadband Light Authentication issue

 

Now it's solid orange & no Authentication happening at all in the event log.

 

The Openreach engineer has told me that they've upgraded the DSLAM? in the exchange & the problem is somewhere between where my wires enter the exchange & connect to the BT Broadband service 

 

They have a Network Engineer working the problem but that's been 36 hours now & no one is telling me anything

 

How do I get BT to do something or tell me what's going on - ringing the helpline is a waste of time.

 

I'm supposed to have an "Escalation Manager" assigned to me but haven't heard a thing to date

Problem resolved after 15 days - cabling problems in the exchange after an upgrade thanks to all who gave me helpful suggestions

We're having exactly the same problem and receiving the same response - line tests and restarts, all to no avail.

No internet, lost most of the functions on the Vision box and as the Home Hub phone is our sole means of using the landline, that's playing up too.

And every time we reset it, all we get is that glaring, unblinking red broadband light.

An OpenReach engineer visited this morning and now we're back online. Apparently it was something to do with a 'port' at the local exchange.

Who do I contact for a refund for the lost days of Internet connection?
