HI, whenever my house phone rings my internet ALWAYS disconnects.
Now, I'm sure its nothing to do with the interference with my phone frequency and my router, because whenever my phone rings the router broadband colour goes orange rather then the standard blue.
I have BtHomeHub3.
Also, I have replaced all used filters around the house with official BT ones, and no difference.
as a last resort have you tried using 2 filters - first one into phone socket (preferably the test socket to eliminate internal wiring) with router connected and the second filter connected to phone side of first filter and then phone connected to second filter. try phoning your house phone and if drops this time you probably have a high resistence fault so contact the mods for help
can take up to 3 working days for mods to contact you
I have my Router connected up stairs, not the main socket.
However my phone is connected in the main socket.
So I put an extra filter, so there are 2 filters.
Main Socket > Filter > Filter > Home Phone.
It may help if you connect the router to the test socket also (if possible to eliminate any internal wiring fault). It is also best if the router is kept at the main socket in future to prevent any errors and reducing the sync speed
But at the moment (if possible) Test socket >microfilter with dsl router attached > microfilter > Home Phone.
Will post a picture if I can find one.
I have the exact same problem, it has only started in the last 2 days. The internet works fine until someone answers a phone call, then the internet drops..
The phone ringing tone has also changed. Insteaad of the usual normal "ring ring" sound it does a very rapid "ring, ring, ring, ring" when someone calls.. it sounds like someone calling and hanging up, and calling again very fast.
Also, during a phone call you can hear a strange buzzing tone in the background. This tone can be heard even when the router is disconnected, and also when we tested with a different phone.
I tried swapping the fliters for new ones, and also tried using 2 filters, still no change.
I had this problem and after two engineers it was fixed found out problem was the router and also had a new master socket put in, my trouble was that BT upgraded my line Now everything seems to be fine no problem thanks to the mods here so get in touch with them.
