Says it has the most up to date driver - but Realtek say you should download from motherboard manufacturer site??
It is a Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller.
Are you thinking it is a problem with this because the laptop works ok?
Sorry - so many questions!!!!!!
Will swap back to test socket
It's unusual for the wireless to keep working when the ethernet cable doesn't.
9/10 times it's the other way round
If it's up to date, then it might be ok. You could look at the realtek site, to see if there is a different version.
(The roll back driver should work if you decide to install from realtek - should it not work)
It could by a faulty hub...:smileysad:
It may be a good idea to avoid the current WindowsUpdate driver for this ethernet adaptor for this reason.
I think this is the current link to your Ethernet Drivers?
Have just been and found my own update - there is one more recent than the one windows was finding. It is more recent than the linked problem - so fingers crossed - will let you know.
We plug into test socket / check noise
Thank you so much everyone - all your help is really appreciated
