Ah I see, all makes sense now, I think that should be fine Paddy, if there is no DLM to upset then the errors shouldn't really matter now anyway, she's holding the sync and that's great, I can live with the odd stuttery patch through the day, majority of time it is fine👍 thanks for all your help, very much appreciated, we can consider it solved 😁👍

Hi Paddy, just for an update, was away three days there for Easter and cam back today to find the snr had again risen to 12 with a poor sync. Luckily a reset of modem brought it back to 7 and good sync again, but looks like the dlm is still doing its stuff, so don't know how long it will be before goes up to 12 and stays there.

you can't turn off DLM  as long as linje is stable you will be ok but if dropping connection then DLM will eventually take action

Ah rite, OK, just mods had informed me dlm was switched off and snr capped at 6 as per previous post.

Hi @warrenshaw22,

Thank you for posting back. We've turned off the DLM on your line and capped the SNR at 6DB. Normally what would happen if there was interference on the line, the SNR would increase and this would reduce the number of errors you are seeing.

Your line is over 6500 Meters long and I would expect there to be interference on the line. I'm happy to give you a call to discuss the options. What would be the best time for me to call?

Hi mate, long story lol line would always hold steady at 3.5 sync for a few weeks then just decide to start shooting up snr and dropping sync speed away down out of nowhere. My neighbours, right next door, on both sides get nearly 4 sync constancy.
I have changed all wiring and master socket in house to mark out any problems there. Line test is also silent.
In Last few weeks error rates are now massive and I don't know why, again, li e is silent.
Long and short line has been reset 5 times in 6 months and even tried different modulations to no avail, again my neighbours is fine.
PADDY B has been most helpful, but the system seems to have started up again as snr sitting at 7 now, but will prob shoot up in a few days.
To be honest, if I had a way out of this contract, I would be getting rid, has been so unreliable and such a headache. Have full 4g coverage here so would be going three homefi if I could!

26 engineers to not find 273m of faulty underground cable.


This is my log from FEB. Fault reconnets etc. every time it rains. Any weather related patterns?


ADSL(0)Max DLM off SNR locked to 6dB.


Note varying down snr connection. This is dependent on how active the fault is at time of re connection.


Note PPP session peer not respondig etc. My serious errors AM drops etc. Interleave errors kept up quite well.


Do you know how to get error stats out of hub 6a? I'm too lazy to google it. But I will.
