New Line Installed - Promised 10MB on getting 4MB

I had a brand new line installed two weeks ago and in the order was promised 8-10mb, on a wired connection the max I can get in 4mb but normally lower even when only hub is connected on the  line (still with filter provided by BT).

 

Here's my home hub stats.

You are on adslmax with max connection speed 8 mb. If adsl2 available then mods may help get changed

I can see I'm on ASDL Max, with a max speed of 8mb as quoted in my BT order, but I'm still getting only half this speed.

It's a download speed on a wired connection of 4.2mb and upload of 0.2mb

as you can see from the checker your exchange has not been upgraded to 21CN hence adsl2 is not avialable

can you now run btspeedtester and when first test completes then run diagnostic test and post results please

 

do not reset before test and use wired connection

I've run the btspeedtester and then run diagnostic test and got the following results:


Download speedachieved during the test was - 2.07 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 0.6 Mbps-7.15 Mbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :8.13 Mbps(DOWN-STREAM), 0.45 Mbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 7.15 Mbps
