Please help with sub 1MB connection.

Hi.

These results are from the Master Socket at my home. I do not have a telephone so cannot do the line test, however my noise margin seems to be quite low from what I can see from my ADSL stats.

Re: Please help with sub 1MB connection.

Hi there is nothing wrong with your noise margin it at the correct default setting

Why is the connection time so low has the hub been disconnecting ? Or have you been resetting it to try and improve the speed

Have you tried connecting the hub to the test socket using a new filter ?

You really need to do the quiet line test could you borrow a phone from someone or alternatively a basic phone can be bought for around £5.00 form some local large stores

Once connected to the test socket can you please repost the ADSL stats including the hidden errors found by clicking on the show detail button

Re: Please help with sub 1MB connection.

with your attenuation and a good line I would expect a connection speed of 3/3.5mb so you need to conenct to test socket and repost your stats test socket.jpg

Re: Please help with sub 1MB connection.

Hi, thanks for your advice, here is my output from the advanced view ADSL line status. Also The connection is only on hour old due to me now being plugged in directly to the test socket. The errors seem quite high, would that cause the issue?

Re: Please help with sub 1MB connection.

the stats have not improved in the test socket.  have you tried a new filter?  are you using a telephone extension cable to reach the socket?  if you have extension sockets in other rooms are they now all dead?

Re: Please help with sub 1MB connection.

Just plugged a new filter (straight out of the box not been used before) into the test socket, No extension sockets are in use. this is the single active socket in the house at the moment, there are no telephones connected, or sky boxes connected, just the router. There's not much of a difference in the results I'm getting now, with what's been posted above.

Re: Please help with sub 1MB connection.

Got a cheap phone from Argos, I've tried plugging it in alone, and with the filter, both in the main and the test sockets and the line seems fine, no noticable line noise.

There are no issues mentioned on any of the linked sites to issues that may be present in my area, I also don't beleive that this would be an issue has this has been a problem for the past 3 days or so.

Any further help or guidance would be really appriciated, it seems to be getting lower, I was able to get 80kb last night, and at the moment I'm on 13kb.

Edit: Realised I never mentioned what speed I should be getting, I have a BT buisness line.
