Poor BT support

After having many internet disconections i decided to call bt once reaching the department and explaing my problems the gentleman said to me "i will call you back tomorrow", 24 hours later still not having recieved my callback i called them again this time asking to speak to someone in england. Yet again i go through the process of explaing my problems to some guy who the informed me i had been disconnected from my internet over 40 times in the last 24 hours. He then said then said to me he need to check something which would take approximatley 15 mins, i explaind as i was using my mobile phone and had been talking to him for over 30 mins could he call me back to which he replied of course sir 3 hours later i and no callback i decided to call customer complaints who told me all complaints were handled by the department involved. Yet again i call bt braodband asking to speak to a manger the guy then informed me 1st he could not find one then that the manager was busy. He then proceeded to book me a call back for 9-45 pm i am now typing this at 10-15 still waiting for a callback for bt. I would be grateful for any assistace from anyone who can get me in touch with bt to help me with this matter.

this is a customer help customer forum and only BT employyes are the forum mods.  your posts do not go to BT


in order for the forum members to help please can you post the adsl stats from your router may need to 'show detail' to get all stats (if hub enter 192.168.1.254 in your browser and navigate to adsl or use a-z, if netgear enter 192.168.0.1) and run  btspeedtester  (MAC users may have problems). when first test completes then run diagnostic test and post the results .


are you connected directly via a filter to the NTE5 master or test socket or to somewhere else? Is the master the only phone socket in your home?

Have you tried the quiet line test? - dial 17070 option 2 - should hear nothing - best done with a corded phone. if cordless phone you may hear a 'dull hum' which is normal

Someone may then be able to offer help/assistance/suggestions to your problem
