Re: Possible Fault

Just an update on the stats.

SNR has decreased and errors have ,unsurprisingly, increase with a connection time of 1hour and 52 minutes, even without using the landline phone.

Also tested with the phone and:

The snr hasn't dropped that much when using the landline but the errors have started increase already.

**All below stats are from homehub when connected to ADSL v1 Master Socket**

Before using landline phone:

Line state:Connected
Connection time:0 days, 01:50:08
Downstream:1.688 Mbps
Upstream:448 Kbps

ADSL Settings
VPI/VCI:0/38
Type:PPPoA
Modulation:G.992.1 Annex A
Latency type:Interleaved
Noise margin (Down/Up):3.6 dB / 10.0 dB

Re: Possible Fault

I'd be surprised if it didn't .... 🙂

Either that ... or the bitstream grind ...   😞

2/1 on, ... for a drop.

Even money for the bitstream grind.  😉

(but I won't take pleasure in knowing that you'll get either jac )    😉

Re: Possible Fault

Not only has it hung on ... it's upped the noise margin to boot.

That's good news jac .... all you need now is your line problem sorting.

Hi all,

Just an update on the line statistics. It seems to be behaving itself at the moment and has recently resynced with a 1.75mb syncrate which I think is very good for a 66+dB line.

Downstream:1.75 Mbps
Upstream:448 Kbps

ADSL Settings
VPI/VCI:0/38

Latency type:Interleaved
Noise margin (Down/Up):6.2 dB / 11.0 dB
Line attenuation (Down/Up):66.2 dB / 31.5 dB
Output power (Down/Up):16.9 dBm / 12.6 dBm
FEC Events (Down/Up):594 / 243
CRC Events (Down/Up):1 / 10
Loss of Framing (Local/Remote):0 / 0
Loss of Signal (Local/Remote):0 / 0
Loss of Power (Local/Remote):0 / 0
HEC Events (Down/Up):0 / 5

Re: Possible Fault

Hi all,

Haha thought it had stopped doing this as for the last few days it's been at 1.6mb, but since this morning it dropped out as the phone rang and sync rate became 832kbps.

And now the errors build up and snr decreases when we use the landline phone.

Think time to ring BT and see what they can do, but the line will probably pretend that all is alright Smiley Very Happy

All the below tests was setup using the Openreach Adsl v1 Filtered Master Socket

Before using the landline phone:

Line state:Connected
Connection time:0 days, 00:34:15
Downstream:832 Kbps
Upstream:448 Kbps

ADSL Settings
VPI/VCI:0/38
Type:PPPoA
Modulation:G.992.1 Annex A
Latency type:Interleaved
Noise margin (Down/Up):10.2 dB / 11.0 dB
Line attenuation (Down/Up):66.1 dB / 31.5 dB
Output power (Down/Up):16.8 dBm / 12.6 dBm
FEC Events (Down/Up):633 / 43

Loss of Framing (Local/Remote):0 / 0
Loss of Signal (Local/Remote):0 / 0
Loss of Power (Local/Remote):0 / 0
HEC Events (Down/Up):4 / 0
Error Seconds (Local/Remote):434 / 322

While using landline phone
