Looking for some help with the meaning of this :
QoS Rate cap set to 0.4Mbs
I have had an engineer to the house who replaced some equipment in the exchange after a connection failure 6 days ago. He did not return to the house to check the speed which is very low. Level 2 support tells me it will improve over 10 days and an engineer cannot revisit until then. As the engineer did not complete the test at my home he did not see this info:
Download speedachieved during the test was - 0.36 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 0.05 Mbps-0.5 Mbps.
Your DSL Connection Rate :3.58 Mbps(DOWN-STREAM), 0.45 Mbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 0.35 Mbps
and QoS Rate cap set to 0.4Mbs in the HH3 event log
So would that explain the slow speed. We usually get about 2.5 MBps here.
Getting very frustrated so all help valued
I moved your post to avoid confusing answers with the originator of the thread on which you originally posted
from what you have posted you currently have a connection speed of 3.58mb but due to all the previous problems and probably low speed your profile is down at 0.35mb instead of 3mb. this is the reason for slow download
your profile should recover automatically given a stable connection 24/7 for the next 3/5 days sometimes sooner
can you post the adsl stats from your hub please
Thaks for the offer of help. I think this is what you need:
|Connection time:||0 day, 03:21:26|
|Modulation:||G.992.1 Annex A|
|Noise margin (Down/Up):||4.5 dB / 17.0 dB|
|Line attenuation (Down/Up):||55.5 dB / 31.5 dB|
|Output power (Down/Up):||18.9 dBm / 11.9 dBm|
|FEC Events (Down/Up):||0 / 2|
|CRC Events (Down/Up):||1547 / 52|
|Loss of Framing (Local/Remote):||0 / 0|
|Loss of Signal (Local/Remote):||0 / 0|
|Loss of Power (Local/Remote):||0 / 0|
|Loss of Link (Remote):||0|
|HEC Errors (Down/Up):||833 / 37|
|Error Seconds (Local/Remote):||0 / 0|
OK and thanks for the assistance. Ill try to be patient.
What does "QoS Rate cap set to 0.4Mbs" mean and is the rate capped at the exchange or on the HH3?
that usually appears with BT vision certainly not a cause of your problem it is set at the exchange
OK all back to normal. Glad I insisted on some action being taken. Had a call this morning from level 2 to say that the BRAs had been reset at the exchange, reboot HH3 in 1 hour .
Immediately I achieved 2.9 MBps - the best ever.
So thanks for your help
