Re: Download times abysmal

Go to solution

Got a vey quick response to my email...was telehoned on Monday by a lovely man called DavidM in Ireland. He sent me a new Home Hub3, which came yesterday. He asked I contact him directly via the email he would include in the box , but I have emptied the box and cannot find it.....

Was busy in the morning , so connected it yesterday afternoon. No difference .Remembered I had an Belkin RJ11 purchased when I had problems with Home Hub2 so have used that in the hope that when everything settles down it might help with noise reduction( the new Home hub 3 did not have the phone connecion lead, it had an Ethernet and an Infinity cable).I now have the new hub approx 3 feet from my Macbook, the other side of the hall/sitting room wall and the speed this morning was 8.92, less than before but I am hoping this will get me back to the 9.2 I was on on Monday morning when it settles, will it get back to 16??????....here are the results now

Re: Download times abysmal

I would just stay connected 24/7 for couple of days to see how the errors go and if ok then repost stats and get mods to reset your noise margin back to 6db which will increase your conenction speed and therefore your download speed

can you post the rest of errors from hub  probably need to 'show detail'

Re: Download times abysmal

My contract with BT was due for renewal in June, I had been advised that I could renegotiate from the end of March.I telephoned and said I was not happy with reduced speed etc, and told them of the problems I had been having and got a new 12 month contract with a reduction of £2.65 per month.Better than a poke in the eye.

Re: Download times abysmal

looking better you have a few errors there it may help to get interleaving turned on as that will reduce the line errors David should be able to help you with that
