Re: SNR fluctuation and banded after line upgrade

To keep this thread updated:

So, I’m still stuck in a banded profile (2272) and have been for 2 months (except for a few days when profile was reset)! My download speed is worse than on adslmax at around 1-1.96Mbps!

I had a power cut on Friday evening (23/02) and Saturday afternoon (24/02). I used this as an opportunity to replace the micro filter. No change. Quite line test still clear too.

I did have a massive surge of errors last night (Sun 25/02) which caused a resync.

Something that I’ve noticed which seems very odd is that the upstream SNR is fixed, absolutely no movement what so ever. Anyone know why that could be?

Any advice on what I’m meant to do next would be massively appreciated.

Re: SNR fluctuation and banded after line upgrade

you are not going to make any progress as long as your conenction keeps dropping and power cuts are not helping you.  see if mods can take another look and maybe get another engineer visit  there is no poit in releasing banding as long as connection keeps droppings as you found out last time

mods will post here again

Re: SNR fluctuation and banded after line upgrade

So does this sound like a line fault to you?

In the router stats, is there anything else which would give this away other than the SNR fluctuations? HEC and ES counts?

Thanks, I’ll await the mods.

Re: SNR fluctuation and banded after line upgrade

Hi @a_e It does look that something is not right here and removing the banding will won't resolve the issue on it's own.

Send us over your details again and we'll have another look at this for you. You can contact us by clicking on my user name and selecting contact the mods.

Thanks
John

Thanks @JohnC2

I'm not sure why but the 'contact the mods' link doesn't seem to be there like last time.

Re: SNR fluctuation and banded after line upgrade

Thanks very much to the mods for looking into this again, I really appreciate it!

After the work done yesterday, the connection rate went straight up to approx 5Mbps with a SNR of 6 Down/6 Up.

However, because I had an existing SNR tweak set on my router I had to quickly switch this off and back to the default because the SNR was at 0. After resync, rate decreased to 3744 where it has stayed.

SNR ranges from around 6 during the day and 2-3 at night.

I have noticed a lot of errors though.

Router stats below:
