Slow Broadband for past 72 hours.

Can't run the standard test so have run the, BT Wholesale Broadband Performance Test. Computer was wired to the hub and results are as follows:

Download speed (Mbps): 0.12

Upload speed (Mbps): 0.33

Ping Latency (ms): 87.88

Couldn't run the 'further diagnostics test'. Nothing has changed in the house recently.

Support/ a fix would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Re: Slow Broadband for past 72 hours.

welcome to the BT community forum where customers help customers and only BT employees are the forum mods

in order for the forum members to help please can you post the adsl stats from your router you may need to 'show detail' to get all stats (if hub enter 192.168.1.254 in your browser and navigate to adsl or if HH4/5 then go to troubleshooting then logs and you are looking for 2 line together when hub last connected to internet and they will show your connection speed and noise margin or if netgear enter 192.168.0.1). Can you try runnning btspeedtester  diagnostic test again as that is only test that shows your profile which may be low causing low download speed

are you connected directly via a filter to the NTE5 master or test socket or to somewhere else? Is the master the only phone socket in your home?

Have you tried the quiet line test? - dial 17070 option 2 - should hear nothing - best done with a corded phone. if cordless phone you may hear a 'dull hum' which is normal

Someone may then be able to offer help/assistance/suggestions to your problem

Re: Slow Broadband for past 72 hours.

Thanks for the reply, not too sure what you mean by '2 line together when hub last connected...'

Is it this?

IN: ACCEPT [57] Connection closed (Port Forwarding: UDP 192.168.1.79:11897 <-->86.141.39.42:11897 [109.146.119.132:3303] ppp0 NAPT)

BT speed tester still not working and the house only has one phone socket, so def connected to the master.

Re: Slow Broadband for past 72 hours.

The 2 lines like this

if using a hub 4 locate these lines located in the hub troubleshooting then wan/logs
Lines should look like this
19:11:29, 07 Nov. (2290101.460000) DSL noise margin: 7.00 dB upstream, 6.10 dB downstream
19:11:29, 07 Nov. (2290101.390000) DSL line rate: 448 Kbps upstream, 288 Kbps downstream

Re: Slow Broadband for past 72 hours.

Without the results from the btspeedtester diagnostic test you cannot tell if profile is rock bottom and that is what is causing the low download speed

Re: Slow Broadband for past 72 hours.

From these stats you are on adslmax with the max connection speed of 8128kbps but your profile may well be low which will result in low download speed so really need btspeedtester diagnostic results
