Re: Slow connection and no help from call centre.

@Derrymilk

The big difference you are trying to upgrade to fibre not move from adslmax to adsl2

mods will help just a matter af waiting till mods get back to you

Re: Slow connection and no help from call centre.

Hi Robbie,
Not really noticed much difference in speed. Speed tests this week have been averaging about 1.75mb down and .65 up. Not sure when the switch over was done, does it take a while to settle down?. Just can't understand why I was getting around 5mb with sky on the same line. Also noticed my ping has now shot up to above 500ms, sometimes up to 1000ms.

Re: Slow connection and no help from call centre.

can you post the adsl stats from your router

it may have been same line but different exchange equipment as SKY have their own in the exchnage.  still speeds should be similar

Re: Slow connection and no help from call centre.

as you can see you are on adsl2+  992.5 so definately moved from adslmax  with your attenuation of 64.5db that would give a connection speed of about 2mb ewhich is about the speed you have.  you speed is actually above that shown for attainable probably due to noise margin at 4.8db

are you using test socket?

Re: Slow connection and no help from call centre.

No I'm not using the test socket, I'll swap tomorrow and post those results. In the mean time what could be causing suchm high pings and also why were my speeds so much better with sky, do they have better equipment in the exchange?

Re: Slow connection and no help from call centre.

Sky just use there own equipment and provide  an LLU service but normally you would expect adsl2 to give similar results. However with the current attenuation you are not going to get much if any faster - unless using the test socket helps
