Re: Slow loading webpages

Do you not get the feeling that we are all wasting our time posting here about this fault which has still not been acknowledged by BT?

Re: Slow loading webpages

Yes probably!!

But surely with enough noise something can be done?

Still the same today and has been like this since Sat morning 12th July

For what its worth here is some pointless info....

What exchange are you guys on?

Canterbury

What Home hub version are you using, HH3,4,5 etc.?

HH3, HH5

Is it particular websites that are affected?

No all websites!

Does the problem occur at certain time of the day or is this constant?

All the time...

Is there an official place we can all report this problem other than this public forum which no one important seems to use? As we all know its a waste of time rigning them and getting the standrad please turn off and on your router response... @btcare still reporting just about mail which I don't use...

Re: Slow loading webpages

The forum mods who are BT employees are involved as you can see from a earlier post on the thread once they get your replies they can get the problem investigated fully but it takes time

HH4

Seems to be all websites but the more complicated the site, the more likely it appears to fail.

Does the problem occur at certain time of the day or is this constant?
Seems to be all the time, although, as someone else here said, it seemed a lot better (but not right) first thing this morning. Now awful again.

Re: Slow loading webpages

4 days worth of time, 3 days to actually bother to start collecting information.

Let's place bets on how many days till they action this information

Re: Slow loading webpages

Hi Guys,

Thank you very much for supplying us with the details that Paddy asked for.  To be honest this hasn't helped in finding a commonality as we had hoped.  I have been speaking with our top tech team on this issue and they have asked for a bit more information which they hope will aid them in identifying where the problem lies.

I appreciate you are frustrated and am very sorry for your poor Internet experience of late.

Can I ask for a couple of traceroute please,

1.  Traceroute to the site(s) when the page load is poor i.e. going direct

2.  Traceroute to the site(s) when the page load is good i.e. going via VPN or proxy

Please post the results here and I will feed this back to our tech team and hopefully we can find something.

Cheers

Sean

Re: Slow loading webpages

Sean those tests you've asked for simply aren't possible.

It happens at random so you can't consistently predict when it will occur. You might load a page the browser and it either doesn't load or loads slowly, traceroute and it's fine.

Worse yet when some sites make multiple connects to retrieve data from different servers it simply isn't possible to do a complete trace.

There are traceroutes on my poor ping thread which I managed to capture the other day. I will post these here but really you need to be doing your own investigations and not replying on us. The top tech seem sounds pretty useless.

These in my eyes don't accuratley show the issue for the reasons stated above but as requested.

I really think you need to stop replying on us to do all the testing or make better attempt to work with us to get the data you need, clearly this issue is hard to diagnose so lets stop trying to do it on the forum where it takes you 24h+ to reply! The level of customer service being provided is appauling.

Re: Slow loading webpages

It probably won't stand (the trace routes) as in my opinion it's only affecting the HTTP protocol. Wireshark traces I've done show a non response and then finally an RST when I manage to capture it. It's quite hit/miss. when I VPN out to another network (over the BT infinity link) it flys.
