Speed check without a number?

Go to solution

I'm looking at buying a new house.  It's currently empty and the vendors are out of the country.

Is it possible to run a broadband speed check without knowing the phone number?

I will have access to the property this coming saturday so would be able to plug something into their phone line to check, but I doubt their internet connection will still be running.

Use the address checker facility  here https://www.dslchecker.bt.com/

Thanks for that.  Speeds appear to be ... appalling.

If you could plug in a wired phone when you are there and dial 17070 it should tell you the number for the property if the line is still live.
Then you can check the dslchecker using the number which is more accurate than using the address.
