Reported fault yesterday 11th at c6pm - now this afternoon it says fault is fixed but still no broadband - BT just using delaying tactics - they just report every fault as fixed then they can start the clock again and treat your follow up report of a fault as New report - totally cynical operation to pretend every fault is fixed within short period of time and hence avoiding having to refund customers - report says 'engineer' had attended my house and dealt with me - never seen anyone do anything outside my house. More lies from BT. 26 days from end of 2 year contract so will be switching...
@Buckster1 If you’re as cynical as I am, you’ll have learned long ago to disbelieve most of what you’re told anyway. I had four years of faultless service from BT, it was only their diabolical pricing structure that made me switch and I’ve got no time in my life to waste with their retentions department, or at least what passes for it.
Good morning @Buckster1.
Thanks for reaching out to us here on the Community.
Depending on whether you're on Full Fibre or Fibre to the Cabinet, there's a good chance the engineer checked something with the cabinet or line externally, and did not need to visit your property directly.
If you're continuing to struggle, I'd recommend doing some simple troubleshooting like restarting your Hub, then if this still isn't resolved give our technical team a call, and they can Guide you through any next steps from there.

OK well the fault is fixed now - the engineer rang me this morning when he was checking something at the 'box up the road' - I had no idea he was here until I got back from a bicycle ride - he came in plugged in his meter etc and then said he had to go up the pole which is across the road. The fault was (he said) a loose wire in the junction box at the top of the pole and that another company must have been messing around with it - there has been another company Trooli here doing installs so quite likely - in the end I am obviously pleased that the fault is fixed and it was external to our house.
But the fact remains they went through a charade of marking the fault as fixed yesterday and it was not fixed - so why would they do that except to massage their figures?
BT do not fix the faults.
They do that because they were told by Openreach it was fixed.
