request move from adsl to adsl 2+

Go to solution

Hello.

I live 2.31 miles from my local exchange.

I'm on copper broadband on adsl (I think.) I'm too far away for fttc. My exchange supports adsl 2+.

Is there any way to tell if an upgrade to adsl 2+ would help with my broadband issues (stability, upload and download speeds) ?

And - is it possible to revert to adsl if adsl 2+ doesn't help?

Thanks for your help.

Andy.

Hi @andy5023 Thanks for posting.  Can you post your Home Hub router stats and we'll take a look? You'll get them by entering 192.168.1.254 in your browser, if you have a home hub 4 or 5 please go to troubleshooting then helpdesk and if it's a Smart Hub go to advanced settings then technical log information.

Thanks

Neil

From dslchecker adsl2 is available and I am sure mods will be able to help you  your current speed is better than estimated range which is great so should get bit more from adsl2

Why is connection time very short?

Hello thanks for the response.

The connection time is short because the line disconnected briefly - as it does frequently. Hope I've understood you correctly.

I try to avoid manual resets  unless necessary as it seems to confuse the system and make it even more unstable!

Hi @andy5023 thanks for your posts, how often do you get disconnections? I would be reluctant to try and push more speed down a line that's unstable as it could cause more problems.

Thanks

Neil
