Re: uploading kills my download speed

All set up and so far so good, thanks very much for your help.

The last engineer upped my snr to 9db, how do I get this put back in order to get a bit more overall speed?

The SNR has to be lower, to get a speed increase. Its automatically controlled.

Can you please post the connection information from the TP Link, it should be easy just to cut and paste like I did, from the status page.

I assume its the W9970 you are using?

The last engineer said he had "set" the SNR at 9Db in a effort to sort the problem rather than let it set automatically.

Yes I have the W9970, seems great for the money.

It may have been done to improve stability. Did you have problems with disconnections?

I can ask a moderator if they can release the fixed setting, as that is something they can do if you really want it.  It can drop to as low as 3dB, mine varies between 2.9 and 3dB.

You may gain a bit of speed. If it becomes unstable, then the SNR will automatically adjust upwards.
