Scam alert! Phishing email purporting to be from the DVLA

Hi Folks,

Another phishing email we have seen being reported is one which reports being from the DVLA.

The email informs the recipient that some irregularities have been found with the information that you have supplied through your profile on the DVLA site.  The message states that you have not responded to previous reminders of updating your account information and urges you to click on a link to confirm your info.

This is a scam and the link should not be clicked on.  If you receive this email please do the following,

  • Forward the email to phishing@bt.com then delete it
  • If a suspicious link was clicked or attachment opened/downloaded then run a virus check on your computer
  • If bank details were given out then contact your bank immediately and change your online banking passwords
