Every game of Dota 2 ive tried this last week I get high pings of 150ms+ . My pingplotter is above. This is just 1 EU server, I have 3 others saved in the app. They all come back with the same results.
As you can see valve-gw.ip4.tinet.net comes back at 122ms. This should be about 30-40ms when everything is working properly. In game it ends up being about 50-60 ping. However, as I said the last week, or even two weeks, its been 150 ping instead, which results in huge input lag and delay in play. I literally cant bring myself to play it because its so laggy.
My two other friends who are also on BT Infinity in Leicester, also have the same problem. Exact same abnormally high pings.
I have 30-40ms in League of Legends as a comparison.
I think there is a routing issue between BT and Valve EU servers.
Can anyone help?
For people to test, you can tracert or pingplotter these EU Server IPs to test.
As comparison this is a US East Server:
I get less ping on these than EU ones...they're based in Luxembourg most of the time.
Yet this is nothing to do with BT or the Infinity product as the delays happen off BT's network so why is it on an Infinity support forum?
Other BB Quieries seems to be the better place for it.
Then why is it only happening to people on BT, or in the UK?
There were people connected in Russia that had better ping than me and my friends.
Distance from Birmingham to Luxembourg (Servers location) is 400 miles.
Moscow to Luxembourg is 1370 miles...
Can you see how there is a BT problem now?
I can't differentiate between those two unfortunately.
I only play with 2 other guys in England, they're both on Infinity too. (Who both have the same problem in the last 2 weeks)
Very few english people play Dota 2 for some odd reason. It's hugely populated by Eastern Europeans...Good old Valve and their beta key handout strategies.
It leaves BT's network at hop 11 and goes to hop 12 which is only a slightly higher ping time.
Nothing to do with BT.
To clarify my other post.
Is it happening to all in the UK or just BT users?
I said there is no way for me to tell that. As far as I know it could be BT Infinity users, or ALL UK internet users.
I only play with 2 other english guys, they're both on BT infinity. As i said previously.
Then if you don't know you can't blame BT then can you?
Is it BT's fault. NO the fault is off their network!
Is it happening with other users on different UK ISP's ? You don't know so neither would we.
Don't make accusations until you can back them up.
