I thought you were better...

I thought you were better than:

1. giving me calls for Mr Hamilton, why do I get a new number related to another 'popular'(nusiance) person?

2. making me pay for my kids using 1471/3?

3. not allowing me to cancel the 1471 (free[sarcasism]) service

4. saying i have 40mb at socket (bt engineer), giving me a respectable 25mb, and killing it to 14mb after a 2months...

5. Saying I have BT 'unlimited' 'infinity', as this is an outright lie...since my service is limited and finite.... "Bt limfintite" ... I would coin.... as the product is limited and finite, and therefore this would be the correct terminology you should have sold your product by....

Where's you future BT?

Re: 1471

This is a BT domestic customer to customer help forum, any messages posted here do not go to BT.

BT do have the facility to stop the "ringback" part of 1471, as its applied to private call boxes, and other lines on request.

If that is what you want, then it may be possible to arrange it? Its possible that your previous service provider did not have a 1471 facility.

Call barring is another issue. Most service providers class this a premium service and is chargeable.

You may have some difficulty with the normal BT call centre if you ask about disabling the "ring back" facility on 1471. If you have problems, then;

If you would like to contact one of the UK based BT Care Team who moderate this forum, they should be able to help you.

They can be contacted using this link BT Care Team

They normally respond by phone or e-mail, within three working days, however you should get an immediate confirmation, with a tracking number.

Re: 1471

Hi Keith

I appreciate this is a customer to customer forum but I thought that it was also monitored by the 'BT Care Team' who could look at the specific raised and then talk to BT colleagues regarding any specific issue.  Than certainly has happened in my case.

Until the failure of OPENREACH to undertake any action to repair my phoneline I was unaware as a BT customer of this forum.  Now however I would like to see that this forum to widen its brief and become a tool which BT can use to improve service for its customers.

This forum has the potential to provide BT with proof of failings by OPENREACH to comply with their contractual obligations.

This forum could also allow BT to provide OFCOM with proof of where there are failings in the procedures, systems or pricing structure the actions taken by BT.

So it already is more than a Customer to Customer forum but there is potential for it to be so much more.

Re: 1471

Bizy Girl

This forum has been in existance for many years, before it appeared in its current format.

It originally existed to provide technical help with BT products and services, and that situation is still the same, its not really intended as a "complaints" forum. I do appreciate that people do get frustrated with the BT Call centres, and come here for assistance. This is an issue with other companies, not just BT.

The UK based BT Care Team that moderate this forum are only a very small team of specialists, who only monitor this forum when they have time.

Where a problem cannot be resolved by forum members, then they can be asked to assist.

The 1471 issues raised by Phil, can be resolved by the Care Team if everything else fails. Ringback can be disabled and you then get the message "Ringback service cannot be used on this line"

Re: 1471

Hi Keith

Well if this forum has progressed to allow customer to customer information regarding their experiences dealing with BT this must be a good thing and as you have confirmed the 'BT Care Team' monitor this.  As they are paid BT staff this confirms that the BT management agree with how this forum has progressed.

This forum obviously gives BT management the opportunity to ascertain admittedly a mix of objective and subjective views of what is their customers experience when dealing with BT frontl line staff.
