Is that the Birchwood Exchange, Lincolnshire I see listed there
Oh, please do the PCP my line runs from.............
156 new locations, yet not 1 in my county. WAKE UP BT!!!! Norfolk is not just home to 2 or 3 farmers anymore, it is quite densly populated.
Does anyone know when Cowley exchange will get Infinity? I've seen it quoted that 'Oxford' should be getting it on March 31st, but when I put my phone number into the checker it doesn't give a date...
There are 5 exchanges listed for Norfolk
Search for Norfolk comes up with DEREHAM,DRAYTON,SHERINGHAM,SOUTH WOOTTON and ST. FAITH they all have a current date of 2012.
That is 5 more than the county I live in.
Admittedly these are not from the latest list, nevertheless they are on a list, which can only be positive for the people in that part of UK and Norfolk. However, as we've all seen here too many times, dates can change! I'm pretty sure I will be long dead before they even rediscover Powys!.
There is light for me , be that rivals as two have recently unbundled my local exchange and in turn propose a doubling of down/up speed. Which I believe has far greater bearing than size or profitability of BTs FTTC plans!
nobody will even unbundle my exchange, let alone FTTC any time before I die of old age. However, that said, after speaking to my MP, I found out that the government is releasing £50 million of the money they are putting in for the 'final third' next month. This should mean that some rural areas will be upgraded soon and as we were probably one of the highest placed losers in the race to infinity, logic says we should be one of the first rural areas to be upgraded. If BT were to say that other rural areas are being upgraded first due to the fact that they are more profitable, isn't this just BT using tax payers money that was supposed to help people like me to make a profit without investment? I will be keeping an eye on the upgrade lists to make sure rural exchanges that placed high on the race results list are being upgraded. I just hope that OfCom have already put something in place for this, or the government have told them which exchanges to upgrade otherwise BT will probably spend the final third money on areas like greater london, then say there is no money left to upgrade rural areas.
