160mb down areas?

Go to solution

Hi all,

Is there anyway to find out when or if the 160mb infinity package will come to my area. Doesn't show for me on the checker at the minute but would like to know if its actually coming to my area.

Hi,

I think the 160mb infinity product is a FTTP (fibre to the premises) product), but not exactly sure when it is available.

I know Openreach are testing out FTTP in certain areas at the moment and I think as of next year they are trying out their FTTP on demand service.
This PDF document will explain more: http://goo.gl/Uah7D

Hope that helps,
Cheers

It's available now to order but as you have said only in an FTTP area.

Is it an upgrade option in all FTTC areas?

Nope, only where they're trialing FTTP.

FTTP on Demand is on trial in cetain FTTC areas which Openreach hopes to roll it out across the rest of the FTTC areas if all is good with the trial.

I'm just down the road in St Austell, I've had FTTP since December. When it was installed the engineer told me it was a 330 line and I've had speeds averaging 280 Mbps ever since.
