Oh, I see. We can waste our time typing replies because people don't have the etiquette to read before posting.

If people would only search or read before posting, this thread wouldn't be 96 pages.

@imjolly I tried that but didn't have any luck. I'll try again today. If nothing then I'll just get a different router. Thank you

@licquorice you don't have to type a reply if it's not worth your time? No one is forcing you to be here. Chill out a bit.

@CJKelly  Remember if you use a different router and you change to Digital Voice and want to keep your landline number BT's version of DV will only work with their Smarthub 2.

@Bob1001 we don't have a landline so would this effect us? Honestly I'm not sure what you mean by a digital voice?

@CJKelly  You will be fine BT were rolling out a change to DV which meant getting rid of the physical phone line and replacing it with voice over internet, which only works with their own smarthub2. Currently the roll out is suspended but some of us were forced to change and it gave some problems with phone line.

If you have a original copper line for your landline and go to Fibre you will have to switch to a Digital Voice Landline and they take the copper line away. Not necessary a bad thing unless you have something like a home alarm linked to your copper landline that calls you if it goes off. These wired alarms are often Analogue and will not be compatible with the new Digital phone system, so if the alarm provider can’t upgrade (which will cost you) you will need a new system!

I noticed just the problem in time when having fibre fitted and had to cancel the order and then arrange an order leaving the copper in until I have a solution for our alarm.
many people are getting caught out by this and once the copper has gone its too late!

Wrong, the Smart Hub2 has a built in ATA as well as being a DECT base station.

@licquorice  True but will probably need some rewiring if you have an alarm system if it works over BTs ATA it will not just plug in.
