Firmware updated 16th August and the same issue again, Sonos won’t connect until I turn off the 5ghz channel. BT fixed this before but why does this keep happening when the firmware is updated, you’d think the fix from before would be included in future firmware updates.
Have you tried factory reset since the firmware update ?
The problem lies with Sonos, not BT
I can’t really test I don’t use Sonos device I only use Amazon echo’s. I guess only option is buying your own router.

I use a SH2 and have 6 Sonos speakers of various generations and also the IKEA speaker and have not ever had to turn off 5ghz to get anything to work.
I'm not technically astute enough to tell you why but will happily answer set up questions if you you message me.
