In the latests publication of the SIN498 document Openreach confirm that a trial that went on earlier this year will be rolled out nationwide in March allowing DLM to set a noise margin of 3, 4, 5 or 6db. This is expected to give most people (early trials showed 84% of lines got a increase) a speed boost except of course those already at the top of their product cap, be that 55 or 80meg.
The average expected speed increase will be roughly 10-17%.
No lines during the trial experienced a worse service.

Doubt it, a firmware change to the hub wouldn't be required to implement a 3dB margin.
I doubt anyone will confirm, however nothing to the contrary has been made public.
Just to confirm yesterday's separate thread on this.
My HH6 is still holding to the new 3db margin (downstream).
Now sitting at 2.9. A reduction in margin is usual for this time of day.
Will post on own thread, if it doesn't hold.
