Hi @oldthornbarn The single port ONT modem installation limits the number of physical connections to the router and means the homeowner may not make the most of their FTTP full fibre connection due to the reliance on wireless connectivity.
Your Home wiring install of the Communications Provider (CP) router seems to give the options that you want, to connect to the external barn, etc.
@crimsom First of all you are replying to a post that is over a year old.
Secondly yet again you are displaying your complete lack of understanding of how FTTP works.
The ONT is a modem, you can only connect one router to it. How on earth do you think you can connect multiple routers to one service? It has nothing to do with limiting anything.
The purpose of the old 4 port ONT was to provide multiple circuits if the customer wished to have more than one service.
In case you are not aware of how GPON works, all 32 ONTs receive the multiplexed signal from the OLT and just select the designated signal(s) for the designated service.
