4 months and still rubbish.....

Posted on this forum some time ago with reference to a slow and unreliable connection.

 

Contacted the mods as suggested and then had 2 enginner visits and a new hub about a month ago.

 

Problems with a slow connection and hub rebooting continue.

 

Hub has rebooted this month........

 

17:15 Jul 1st

18:30 Jul 1st

12:20 Jul 2nd

17:00 Jul 3rd

19:00 Jul 3rd

05:30 Jul 4th

12:00 Jul 5th

12:15 Jul 5th

15:00 Jul 5th

15:00 Jul 5th

11:00 Jul 11th

19:30 Jul 11th

08:15 Jul 12th

17:00 Jul 12th

23:00 Jul 12th

20:00 Jul 14th

23:00 Jul 14th

18:30 Jul 17th

21:00 Jul 17th

23:00 Jul 17th

08:00 Jul 18th

 

Line noise varies from as low as 1.4 up to about 7

 

Connection generally about 1125k, (Profile 1000k after a few hours), sometimes get stuck at 480k (Requiring a manual reboot to get the line speed up, not included in above reboots).

 

Due to the number of times the hub reboots the profile is usually low, 350k

 

There was talk of a "Rein" engineer looking at it as a previous engineer though there might be interference causing the hub to reboot, but they sent a new hub instead.

 

So whats my next step ?

 

This is rubbish and not the kind of support I expected from BT.

Yeah BT just called, there's nothing they can do. (Great news eh ?).

 

Because of the distance from the exchange, I just have to put up with the hub re-setting when it feels like it (A couple of times a day).

 

No point in sending out any more engineers.

 

My only option according to the guy that called is to wait for FTTC, and thats a couple of years, at least, away for us.

 

My connection with Tiscali over the same BT line was faster and more stable, you couldn't make it up !

 

I'm disappointed.............

 

And to add insult to injury, I just had a BT flyer drop through the door............

Of course I responded to Stuarts email about helping on this forum.

 

The call from BT came after the my email was sent, and I would assume (As before) was a call as a direct result of my post and Stuarts intervention on this forum.

 

Well thats how its worked before, post here, mod replied and emailed me, I reply to mods email, BT call by phone.

 

A Scottish chap by the name or Richard.

Think I just saw a tumbleweed blow across this post.............

 

It seems Stuart has fallen off the face of the planet......................

 

Hub continues to reboot of it's own accord at least once a day, difficult to maintain any sort of reasonable profile.

 

And I find BT's attitude quite shocking, thats as good as it's going to get, you have to put up with it.

 

I'm still paying full price for this less than satisfactory connection.
