I think you are right whatever the problem you had with Tiscali has just followed you as everything is just the same  Your ISP now is BT retail and not Tiscali but they are both clients of BT openreach

I was hoping BT would succeed where Tiscali had failed.

 

But it doesn't look good does it.

they both rely on BT openreach and BT retail cannot be treated any better than Tiscali as per OFCOM.  you may however get a better result as you are getting the mods involved

Tiscali seemed unwilling to do anything, and I was expected to contact BT/Openreach.

 

I must say I am very impressed by the mods on here, and the steps they have taken to help, much better that phoning support (Deep space nine).

 

However I don't know if there's much more they can do, but I'm still convinced there's a fault somewhere, lets face it the line hasn't got longer or older, but it's a slower connection.

 

I'm not expecting a fast connection because of the distance, just a reasonable 1 - 1.2m

 

It would be nice to watch a bit of youtube without it pausing every 5 seconds.

 

And I have no problems with paying more for the 40gig package if the connection was somewhere acceptable.

just read this and it scares me to death although Im envious of the speed you get m getting a poxy 54kps down and 76 up right now

There is an option 2 with 40gig, but it only has evening and weekend calls, no good to me.

 

So my only option with anytime calls is the unlimited package.

 

That's a jump from £16 to £28 per month, not fair for such a crummy connection.

 

And I've just been charged £5 for going over by 2gig.

 

This is getting way too expensive.
