4G mini hub speeds

Hi guys. 

I'm currently using a 4g mini hub.

I've got a couple of questions, if anyone can help.

It has been connected up and using my phone its OK. However, watch YouTube, Netflix etc its terribly slow.

Connect it to my games console and its non existent. 

The same if I connect it to the chromecast to stream Netflix etc.

I've done a speed test on it and it get, a max of 2mbps.

If I use my phone and tether I get 35-40mbps.

Am I doing anything wrong?!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is your mobile on BT/EE or another network?

Your mobile could be connecting to multiple masts to get a better signal

Ive noticed that the BT Halo Mini Hub connects via EE, which is rubbish in my area. That could account for the poor speed (8.5 mbps) when compared to my iPhone which uses Vodafone and gets 35 mbps.

@Extankerman BT own EE and BT Mobile also uses EE as their carrier

I have exactly the same problem. Been waiting since 21st December for external fault (fibre cable broken  on a pole about half a mile from my house) so requested a Mini Hub. EE coverage in this area is really poor and get at best about 3Mb/s. Is it possible to boost the speed, or am I stuck with is? No prospect of a repair to the cable before 5th January (at earliest).
