I ordered BT Broadband back in October and it was installed on November 2nd 2017. I ordered it through uSwitch and I was promised as £120 reward card and a £50 cashback cheque.
I checked broadband benefits (which I'd never heard of until reading similar complaints on this forum) and I was going to claim my cashback but noticed in the terms and conditions that my order doesn't relate to any of the promotion dates that are available.
I ordered via uSwitch on 30th October and it clearly advertised £50 cashback, but on broadbandbenefits there is no option to claim for cashback for this date.
I've received repeated assurances that the cheque is on its way. The first assurance was on 17th November.
I have saved all my transcripts which promise that it will be with me by 25th December at the latest, and then again on on the 31st December promising it was in the post and would be with me within 5 days.
I have called BT again today and they said it can take 3 months. I asked to speak to a manager and they said I would get a callback within 5 hours. As you can expect, I didn't receive a callback. I don't believe it is on its way. I think BT hope that customers will just forget about it and give up pursuing it.
I'm a reporter with a regional news company and I think this is a story that could be worth looking into. It seems many people have experienced the same problem.
I'm pretty fed up of battling BT to give me the cashback they promised when I signed up and if I don't receive the cheque very soon I'll be taking the opportunity of terminating my contract penalty-free because of the price hike which came into effect this week.

They are the only BT employees on this forum, and are based in the UK.
