So it does 😀😀
I wonder if that applies to existing family sims?
I hope so, i just tried to take them up on their offer of 3x 30GB SIMs for £30 but it would not let me, it just offered me some not very attractive deals so it's going to have to be fingers crossed on my part.
No 5G indicated on my phone today but it's still early doors i guess.
Can’t help, I’ve currently only got 4G phones
It was more of an observation but thanks anyway 🙂
No need to recontract, just ring up and ask them to enable it 😀.
Yesterday evening the 5G indicator flickered in to life on my Pixel 5, i was on the very edge of 5G coverage though because a walk 10 feet either way would see 4G come back.
Anyway on 4G i was getting 60Mbit down and 18Mbit up and on 5G i was getting 314Mbit down and 76Mbit up so a sizeable increase in speed for that given spot.
After a few days of using a 5G signal here are my thoughts (which may or may not be of use to people).
First off my phone (a Pixel 5) is sub6 so it isn't ever going to get the blistering speeds a phone with mmWave gets but to be honest 5G isn't about headline speed, although even on a sub6 phone you are always going to see faster speeds than 4G.
The main benefit of 5G is the latency, everything just opens (or loads) so quick, it is instant and makes 4G feel quite sluggish, this combined with the massive increased capacity per cell should mean no more full signal but no throughput in busy areas.
