£7.50 talk21 email account linking to BT Basic

A friend has BT Basic with Broadband, and an old talk21 account that she is paying monthly for, I think £7.50.

Can she link the two to pay less?

And is talk21 part of yahoo or bt?  (I am not sure if yahoo is as safe as bt)

Another thing she could consider is "downgrading" her email to a "Basic" email account.

This would mean that she would only be able to access her email account using a web browser so if she uses an email client or an app on a phone or tablet she would not be able to do that. She would need to use a web browser.

Thank you. She is only paying the £7.50 because they told her a while back that it would be deleted if she didn't pay.

Has it always been the case that Basic talk21 email is free?

No. It has only recently been introduced that you can "downgrade" to Basic email if you are a BTPremium email account holder or if you are leaving BTBroadband.
