A problem with the new email layout

Hi,

BT have just release a new format for web mail. So, I checked out the features that I use. I found a bit of a problem under settings. The window for editing the signature file cannot be repositioned. I have a Dell XPS 13, which cost a pretty penny. The vertical height of the screen is a bit shorter than average, so I'm used to making adjustments. However, to save the signature file I have to switch the taskbar to the side of the screen and then guess which of the buttons I can see the edge of is for saving. I guessed left, which was correct, but there is space on the screen to move the window into, to see the bottom properly. Only, it doesn't move. I find this a bit autocratic. Whether this was just a gap in the specification I can't tell, but it's not very helpful.

What I really want to do is raise this design flaw with BT, but there appears to be no channel for feedback. It's new there will be problems. How do you get better, if you don't listen to feedback? All I really want to do is send a brief email logging the problem and the conditions, under which it occurs. Maybe, if I raise the issue in this forum it will get back to the designers by osmosis. But, I would have preferred a more direct approach.

Cheers,

C.J.

Re: A problem with the new email layout

Hi,

Replying to my own message: the problem I noted has solved itself. So I guess, the system took as long I spent looking for a feedback channel, to adapt to the screen resolution on the local machine and select an appropriately sized edit window. Still, all good now.

Cheers,

C.J.

Re: A problem with the new email layout

There is no new format to the BT webmail, at least not since the last change a few months back.

You may have been moved from the BTYahoo email system to the new BTMail system which is a different email system and has a different UI (User Interface) than the BTYahoo one.

Have you tried clearing your browsers's history and cookies to see if that helps the problem.

Re: A problem with the new email layout

You won't believe this, but I can't find the button to post a new topic. So, I'm replying to my previous, slightly related topic. I was using the new BT web email service in a Chrome browser, and I had difficulty accessing the inbox. The reason for this was that the tag that appears on mouse over was obscuring the "inbox" button. It's an issue with positioning, because it doesn't happen in firefox. It's a pretty reasonable Catch 22, because you mouse over the button to click it, which causes a message telling you about the number of emails to pop up, meaning you can no longer click the button. I think I did manage to distract the system long enough to get a click in, but I can't remember how I did it.

It maybe perverse, but I think it's worth reporting such teething troubles with a new software package.
