Re: ADSL2+ on a Loooong Line - DAY 1

Go to solution

with your attenuation dropping by 2db maybe you have had a 'lift & shift' and got a better connection   with your long line adsl2 doesn't really matter and more importatnt is you seem to have a better faster conenction

do you recommend I give it til midnight tonite to see if original order is implemented?

How does this work then?

The mods put an order in for ADSL2+

Then someone decides not to fulfil the order?

Dont get me wrong, pleased to see my increase in speed, just want to undertand the process

you can wait until tomorrow to see if any change in connection if not you can go back to mods.  or you can just settle for speed increase as I doubt adsl2 will give anymore and does bring a more aggressive system on any noise on your connection

that is because you line is unstable the next thing that will happen if interleaving does not stabilise your line is a noise margin increase and a reduction of connection speed

Re: ADSL2+ on a Loooong Line - DAY 1

Go to solution

Can we just summarise so I fully understand

Mod put an order in for ADSL2+ at my recently 21cn wbc upgraded exchange - friday being the day

Friday morning my stats showed me I was now on a different piece of kit - Infineon. Was Alcatel before

My attenuation dropped and my download speed increased from 720k to 1.2Mbs which is great

But whilst I'm on WBC I'm definatley not ADSL2+

I understand to get ADSL2+ is a physical move - so is that in addition to moving to WBC kit?

Also, even if my line 'doesn't support ADSL2+' if its a physical move there's no cct actually deciding if you can have ADSL2+ or not

Did someone at the exchange just decide my line was rubbish so they didn't fulfil the order and moved me to WBC but stopped short of ADSL2+ connection?

Sorry about all the questions, just would like to understand this

thx
