I've had my ADSL2+ for a few weeks now and its half the speed of my old ADSL connection.
I've replaced the phone socket and all cables with new and has made no difference.
I was promised 8mb download and 1mb upload, but i'm getting 2mb download and 0.3mb upload.
Any ideas or help would be greatfully received!
can you post the adsl stats from your router may need to 'show detail' to get all stats (if hub enter 192.168.1.254 in your browser and navigate to adsl or use a-z, if netgear enter 192.168.0.1) and run btspeedtester http://speedtester.bt.com and post the results.
Someone may then be able to offer help/assistance/suggestions to your problem

are you connected to the test socket? with your attenuation of 36 I would expect about 10mb on a good line and no noise problems http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/max_speed_calc.php
if you have extension sockets in your home then test will give you best connection and eliminate any problems caused by noise on your internal wiring. If engineer came that is first thing he would do - take front off and connect to test socket
Stats when connected directly into test socket...

just the same don't even look like adsl2 stats your noise margin is about normal otherwise it might have been a banded profile but noise margin would 20/30
looks like it's contact the mods for assistance http://bt.custhelp.com/app/contact_email/c/4951
