ADSL2+ target SN margin "stuck"?

Go to solution

Hello - In early May my connection was upgraded from ADSL Max to ADSL2+, but unfortunately connection speed dropped from 8Mbps to less than 3Mbps. After calls to BT support, my Home Hub was replaced by a v2(B) and a line fault was corrected on about 22 May. Since then, connection has been very stable and reasonably fast. SN margin has dropped from about 15dB to 12dB, and synch speed has risen from around 9.7Mbps to around 11Mbps, after a couple of deliberate re-synchs over the last few weeks. It is a relief to have things finally working so well, but even so I wonder if the SN margin should be reducing further and the target SN margin has got "stuck" as a result of all the earlier issues. Can anyone advise the best way of checking and if necessary remedying this situation? Recent stats shown below. Thanks and regards, Mike.

you currently have a 12mb connection if you run the full BT speed test we can tell you what your download speed is like yes resetting your noise margin will improve your connection speed and in turn your download speed but you need to have 3 days+ stable connection first before we can get you in touch with the forum mods who can reset it for you

stats look ok for 1+ day connected and as John46 says you need to get to 3+ days connection time and then repost the stats and then get the link to the mods to request you noise margin reduced to 6db
