Re: ASUS DSL-AC88U Router and BT Sport

Just put that back in service instead of the Asus and see if you still have the same problem. If you do then the error could be with the DSLAM otherwise it could be with the Asus and we need to find out which

Sorry. I have used the LAN 1 port as I thought this would be the best option, but there is nothing in the manual that states that this port should be used. The LAN and WAN ports for this modem/router are as below:

In message 4 you showed a screenshot which showed WAN1 selected as the WAN port, I was asking what other options are available in that dropdown.  I presume that is selecting which of the physical ports is being used as the logical WAN port.

There is only one WAN port labelled as port 16 in the diagram above. Message 15 shows the dropdown for the WAN port in the interface. So I am now wondering from your question whether I have the use of the WAN port configured correctly.
Re your comment, "I presume that is selecting which of the physical ports is being used as the logical WAN port" I'm not sure what the selection does, and it is not addressed at all in the manual, but my guess is that the dropdown tells the router how to process the signals incoming/outgoing.
Any thoughts?

@Anonymous

I can still access BT Sport with the BT Home Hub 6 so the problem would be with the Asus set up

Message 15 shows the WAN type, there is another dropdown shown in message 4 (which doesn't appear to be shown in message 15 for some reason) that selects the WAN port. Not sure why there are 2 dropdowns as I would have thought that selecting the WAN type to VDSL would have automatically associated the logical WAN port with the correct physical port. Try selecting a different port number on that dropdown.

@RugbyNut

I may be being stupid but are you connecting to the phone socket using the DSL port or the WAN port?

The important question is, can access BT sport without the IPC 6023 error when using the BT hub?

I was prompted by a post from @licquorice  to look at message 4 again and noticed that those settings are for the Guest network.

Going by the manual which I looked at online, you need to look at the WAN and LAN settings under Advanced settings, perhaps then the article I posted a link to earlier (see below) may look a little more like your setup.

Well spotted @Anonymous  message 15 is presumably from the advanced settings, hence the difference.

@RugbyNut  You have tried with proxying disabled and snooping enabled, have you tried the converse, proxying enabled and snooping disabled?
