Ah ok, my line has been up for 2 weeks now so I thought my ping would have dropped back to the low 20's ms not low 30's ms?
@john46 While I agreed with the initial part of your satement above - could you explain just how you deduced the "your interleaving appears to be fairly deep at the moment" part of your post?
Because, from the information provided by the original poster, I am at a loss as to how you could possibly tell if there was ANY interleaving on the line or not let alone how DEEP it was.

I'd beg to differ in all honesty. An unimpacted line with out interleaving 'should be' sub 10ms, but having had 2 engineer visits (one a boost engineer) it has been confirmed I have no line issues - no DLM /Interleaving - and am within 30m of cabinet.
However in previous complaints it hasn't been my connection to cabinet or cab to exchange (although thats all the engineers were authorised to check) but congestion at or onwards from the exchange I have been concerned about.
So while I can sometimes get about 15ms through the 1st hops during the early day - this can rapidly increase to 30+ms in the late afternoon rising to almost unnaceptable 60+ at peak evening times (with packet loss). Along with this comes erratic speed fluctuations which can make basic streaming services and server connections unreliable at best and impossible at worst.
There are some 1800 (soon to be increased) student accomodation places in our area in serviced accomodation blocks << which I believe to be the problem. But BT Wholesale say there is no problem and everything is fine (nothing 'hot' at the exchange).
So back to the original post.
What is an 'acceptable ping' on Infinity ? (I can't remember his original wording), and there's nothing I can find on BT website about expected ping as a QOS.
