Access: Local

Hi,

I am trying to setup my Mother's BB but the connection states Access: Local

It is connected to the Internet albeit very slow to upload pages. Is the above correct or should it be Access: Local and Internet. If so what could the problem be. Thanks

Re: Access: Local

What do you mean by local. Where does it say this?

With windows vista, local area connection means your computers network card.

Windows 7, local connection means you on the network  but with no internet access however, it normally tells you this.

Re: Access: Local

My PC has a double blue screen with an earth like symbol which when you hover over it says Access: Local and Internet.

When I lose the connection it states Access: Local only.

Mother has a double blue screen,  no symbol and says Access: Local

Both are Vista, I expect to see the same connection on her's as mine but maybe not Smiley Happy

Re: Access: Local

ah, im not to ofay with vista im afraid 😞

Sounds like your moms pc does not have internet connection.

I am assuming that the pc is wired into the router?

make sure that the IP address is not static (not manually configured)

but recieved from the router.

If all else fails, post a screen shot if u can
