My wife BT email account has stopped working. It is offlne and when you try and take in online the error message is "
IMAPConnection: 0x7fdac8613fb0> (Disconnected) account: <MFIMAPAccount: 0x7fdac8427ee0> firstname.lastname@example.org mail.btinternet.com (02FEDC87-5107-40FE-983B-A1977341B6AF) [Disconnected] lost connection to socket"
Emails on her iphone has stopped as well. The account is active as I am on it and my emails are fine.

Quick update. Just checked and emails sent from this account do actually send. so it is just incomming emails
There would appear to be a few problems with the email system. If it has just happened today and you have not changed anything I would leave things alone. Do not change any settings or passwords and it will probably sort its self out.
no. There is a user name to access to main account and the problem email was sent set up as a sub account. Been working for 6 years.
Yes. I see that. How bizzare! I suspect it is because I switched devices and something logged me in automatically.
You should only have one user name on the forum. I will ask a moderator to contact you and sort it out.
